IED WEBINAR announced - Resilience in crisis: How are economic development and regeneration professionals responding to coronavirus?

Tuesday 28th April 2020, 14.00-15.00

The unprecedented time we are all experiencing around Covid-19 has led to huge challenges for economic development and regeneration practitioners. From emergency planning around key services to frontline responses to central government funding directives, local authorities have had to demonstrate exceptional leadership as they are forced daily into new unchartered territory and decision-making. Meanwhile, commercial partners have had to show agility and flexibility to support public sector organisations with their immediate and changing priorities.

The economic development and regeneration community has, and must continue to, work collaboratively during this crisis. In response, we have pulled together an expert panel to allow anyone with an interest in economic development and regeneration to hear from leading professionals who are grappling with this challenge. Public sector members will share their short, medium and longer term perspectives on Covid-19 and our private sector members supporting local authorities, and each other, will discuss how they are responding to the crisis and particular resources they have developed to help communities.

This webinar is essential for anyone working in economic development and regeneration, public, private and third sector. Delegates on the webinar will have the opportunity to pose questions to the panel, and share best practice themselves, in an interactive one-hour session.

This session will be chaired by Nigel Wilcock, Executive Director, Institute of Economic Development and the panellists will be announced very soon.
