IED Annual Conference - preliminary agenda announced

This year’s IED Annual Conference, Mind the Gap - Productivity, Place and People is taking shape with the announcement of our preliminary agenda today.

Besides our opening address from Will Hutton (Ingredients for Success in the 21st Century Economy), the event (being held on 6 December at BMA House London) will feature keynote speeches from Sir John Peace (chairman of the Midlands Engine) and our patron Sir Howard Bernstein.

In addition, Jackie Sadek (COO of UK Regeneration) and Professors Cathy Parker and Michael Parkinson will explore regeneration in an opening panel discussion.

Our streams and roundtables will examine:

• Housing
• Skills
• Technology
• Inclusion
• Industrial Strategy
• Productivity

Local perspectives will be a key feature of these sessions. Confirmed speakers include Zoe Webster (Innovate UK) and Ben Taylor (Rainbird Technologies).

See here for the preliminary agenda.

In addition, we have formed partnerships for the event with a first-class group of organisations. These include the BID Foundation, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, the Institute of Place Management, LEP Network, and Public Finance. More to follow!
