CPD Workshop: Developing Place Competitiveness

The IED is pleased to announce the first in a new series of CPD workshops - OPEN TO MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS.
This one, which will run for a full day will be on Developing Place Competitiveness. It will be held at The Base in central Warrington.
The IED requires ALL associate and full members to log at least 40 hours of CPD over a two year period. Half of all CPD logged – 20 hours – needs to consist of formal CPD activity - this workshop will count for 7 formal hours.
Final details, including costs, will be communicated very soon. We are keen to keep costs as low as possible for our members, so expect significant discounts!
CPD Workshop: Developing Place Competitiveness

The IED is pleased to announce the first in a new series of CPD workshops. This one, which will run for a full day will be on Developing Place Competitiveness. It will be held at The Base in central Warrington.
This CPD module is intended as a one-day course to allow delegates to explore the aspects that result in place competitiveness and how this may be influenced. The course considers the definition of place competitiveness, the position of different UK towns and cities and several case study examples. The course is run in a participative manner and is aimed at creating a practical experience with applicability to all economic development practitioners both from the course learning, examples of good and poor practice and the interaction with other delegates.
Topics covered:
- What makes up competitiveness
- What can be influenced
- Differences in product for different audiences
- Return on investment
- Promotion
- Delivery model
This full day course will be offered to IED members at a special introductory cost of £30 per member. The charge for non members is £150.
