IED CPD Online: Finance and funding in economic development

Important - this webinar will run over 3 separate sessions, each running for 90 minutes on the 11th, 12th and 13th September 2023.

The IED has pulled together a CPD session to look at finance and funding in economic development. This course will consider the principles of accounting, the development of financial models and how different taxation measures work and can incentivise different types of investment. The course will then consider the different types of public and private sector finance and how they are typically used to fund business and regeneration projects.

This course will be run by IED Executive Director, Nigel Wilcock.

Attendance is open to both IED members and non IED members.

For those of you completing the Advanced Certificate in Economic Development, this is one of the modules in that programme. When you book your ticket, please choose "Advanced Certificate in Economic Development rate".

The webinar sessions will be on:

  • 11th September 2.00-3.30pm
  • 12th September 2.00-3.30pm
  • 13th September 2.00-3.30pm

There is an expectation that delegates will attend all 3 webinars. If you are unable to attend all 3, you can request a recording of the missed webinar, but there will be no discount should you not be able to attend all 3.

Please note that the webinars will be conducted via Zoom or MS Teams and you will be able to ask live questions via the chat during the course of the sessions.

The inclusive price for this session 3 x 90 minute webinars) is £50 for IED members and £100 for non IED members. No VAT is chargeable. Pay by invoice is possible.

If you are undertaking this module as( part of the Advanced Certificate in Economic Development, there is no fee to pay as it has been organised separately - please choose "Advanced Certificate in Economic Development rate" when booking on. Please do not choose this rate if you are not undertaking this module as part of the Advanced Certificate - all bookings are checked by the IED.

Remember, the IED requires ALL associate and full members to log at least 40 hours of CPD over a two year period. Half of all CPD logged – 20 hours – needs to consist of formal CPD activity.
