IED CPD Online: Bid appraisal and post funding evaluations

Important - this is a series of 3 webinars each running for 90 minutes on the 17 - 19 September 2024.

Run by the Institute of Economic Development Executive Director, Nigel Wilcock.

It is good practice to conduct bid appraisals and end of project evaluations for any kind of economic development project, and of course for almost all externally funded economic projects it is a requirement. This course is aimed at those conducting or commissioning such appraisals/evaluations and will cover:

 

  • Fundamental requirements
  • Role that evaluation/appraisal can play in policy or programme development
  • Range of techniques and data sources appropriate to economic evaluation and measuring process and impact
  • Practicalities involved in undertaking or managing an economic evaluation/bid appraisal
  • Ensuring adherence to guidelines set out by awarding authorities
  • Learning from best practice examples

Attendance is open to both IED members and non IED members.

F or those of you completing the Advanced Certificate in Economic Development, this is one of the modules in that programme.

The webinar sessions will be on:

  • 17th September 2.00-3.30pm
  • 18th September 2.00-3.30pm
  • 19th September 12.00-1.30pm

There is an expectation that delegates will attend all 3 webinars. Please note that the webinars will be conducted via Zoom or MS Teams and you will be able to ask live questions via the chat during the course of the sessions.

The inclusive price for this session 3 x 90 minute webinars) is £65 for IED members and £130 for non IED members. No VAT is chargeable. Pay by invoice is possible.

Remember, the IED requires ALL associate and full members to log at least 40 hours of CPD over a two year period. Half of all CPD logged – 20 hours – needs to consist of formal CPD activity.
