Dominic Jones, Economic Policy Development Officer – Barnsley Council
As an economic policy development officer at Barnsley Council, I am responsible for developing and implementing policies that support the economic growth and regeneration of the borough. I work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address the challenges and utilise opportunities in the local economy, such as business support, skills development, innovation, digital connectivity and infrastructure. In particular, I support writing funding bids and business cases to secure funding for regeneration projects in the borough. I am passionate about making a positive difference to the economic prospects and quality of life of the people of Barnsley. The IED network is an invaluable source of knowledge and inspiration for me, as it allows me to learn from the best practices and experiences of other economic development professionals across the country.
