Following the successful publication ofย โHow Universities Can Help Drive Local and Regional Economiesโย written as a collaboration between the Institute of Economic Development and Atkins Realis, we are now hosting an online presentation and discussion on this important topic.
This is an opportunity to hear from the author Jonathan Pickstone, Director, iED and Interim Director of Innovation โ Economy at the University of Manchester alongside John Anderson the Chief Investment Officer at Imperial College.

Its long-standing mission includes collaborating with industry, which it achieves through dedicated teams that facilitate partnerships, a thriving innovation ecosystem, and a strong track record of translating academic research into commercial opportunities.
The session will explore the key aspects in creating economic development in tandem with research institutions.ย There will be an especial focus on innovation districts, including the role of local government in developing them.ย The session will be chaired by Megan Streb, Head of Outreach, What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth and iED Board Member.
