Lichfields

Lucie Bailey is Economics Director in the economics and regeneration team at planning and development consultancy Lichfields. She is a highly experienced economist who advises on economic growth, strategy and appraisal, and her clients, from both private and public sectors, include commercial developers, house builders and local authorities. Lucie joined Lichfields in 2011 from a specialist economic development consultancy.

Whilst Lichfields now benefits from iED organisation partner status, Lucie herself has been an individual member much longer, including whilst in previous roles with New Skills Consulting and Newcastle City Council. “The economics of planning and development has been at the heart of Lichfields’ consultancy offer for over 50 years, and is a growing area of the business,” she explained. “Holding iED corporate membership gives us a way to differentiate and showcase our economics offer to the market. Practically, being able to use the iED corporate membership logo provides a kitemark of professional knowledge and expertise for our economic development skills and services, and has proven extremely beneficial over the years. As an economist, it is also helpful to be able to promote my individual membership and use MiED after my own name.”

Lichfields has sponsored the iED annual conference for several years. “The iED annual conference provides a good opportunity to meet up and build relationships with existing clients and potentially new ones – this is definitely one of the most valuable aspects of our relationship with the iED,” Lucie said. “In addition, working with a range of public and private sector clients, the broader iED corporate membership provides internal and external recognition of our work and helps to cement our market-leading profile that we have built up.
