iED CPD Online: Inward investment

Important – this webinar will run over 3 separate sessions, each running for 90 minutes on the 5th, 6th and 7th February 2024.

This webinar (run over 3 separate sessions) will be a detailed overview of inward investment for an economic development professional. This course is intended to introduce the activities involved in the promotion of an area and the attraction of inward investment interest and converting projects into successful investments. In particular the detailed comparative data and financial information involved in creating a compelling investment case – and what makes a difference in inward investment attraction.

Topics that will be covered as part of this course include:

• Detailed comparative analysis of locations securing investment, the origin of investment and the sectors generating projects
• Why companies invest overseas and the response of agencies in attraction
• Developing a headline case for the attraction of investment
• How companies make investment decisions
• Detailed investor conversations & analysis – Location shortlisting; Qualitative Evaluation; Financial business cases
• Decision makers and the process – making a difference
• Key steps against stages of investment decision making
• Delivering on implementation

Attendance is open to both IED members and non IED members.

There is an expectation that delegates will attend all 3 webinars. If you are unable to attend all 3, you can request a recording of the missed webinar, but there will be no discount should you not be able to attend all 3.

Please note that the webinars will be conducted via Zoom or MS Teams and you will be able to ask live questions via the chat during the course of the sessions.

The inclusive price for this session (3 x 90 minute webinars) is £65 for IED members and £130 for non IED members. No VAT is chargeable. Pay by invoice is possible.

We need a minimum of 10 delegates to run this course. If minimum numbers are not met, this course will not run and you will receive a full refund.

Remember, the IED requires ALL associate and full members to log at least 40 hours of CPD over a two year period. Half of all CPD logged – 20 hours – needs to consist of formal CPD activity.
