10 Sep 2024 - Online via Zoom

Important - this webinar will run over 3 separate sessions, each running for 90 minutes on the 10th, 11th and 12th September 2024.

This CPD module is intended to allow delegates to explore the key characteristics of “left behind” places, with particular reference to rural and coastal settings and their economies and consider the most appropriate strategy they might follow in stimulating rural economic growth.

The course considers the definition of these economies, the position of different left behind settings across the UK and several case study examples.

The course is run in a participative manner and is aimed at creating a practical experience with applicability to all economic development practitioners both from the course learning, examples of good and poor practice and the interaction with other delegates.

  • Market failure and the role of social enterprise
  • Key resources for local growth
  • The nirvana of sustainable left behind places and the trade offs involved
