Claire Hill, Economic Growth Officer – West Lindsey Council  

My role within the Economic Growth Team at West Lindsey District Council is varied and touches a number of different disciplines within Economic Development. My role involves promoting business support services, delivering regeneration programmes, employment land monitoring along with developing and maintaining our evidence base around economic performance. I have always felt that working for a Local Authority is an opportunity to support and shape communities but working within Economic Development really brings this to life and I particularly enjoy that the work offers the opportunity to work at both a strategic and activity based level. Having worked across the private, not for profit and public sectors I’ve arrived in Economic Development later than others. The professional networks I’ve already established are outside of this area of work. The IED network therefore seemed an ideal opportunity to connect with others in a similar position, and further my understanding of the wider work happening in this field.
