He helps them put deals together with house builders to expand the school in return for land sales. He has lots of knowledge of working with housebuilders to fund capital intensive community projects.
Richard Greenaway will be talking about his experience of expanding school capacity, structuring funding deals that add value for communities.

Speaker Two – Andrew Appleyard, Aviva Investors

Andrew Appleyard, Head of Residential and Alternative Real Estate is from Aviva Investors and will talk about how local authorities can shape their investment propositions to appeal to big investors. Gen² are working with Aviva on finding a way to fund innovative building emergency housing units from revenue and not capital. This will help pave the way for new, quick, effective solutions for homelessness.

Speaker Three - to be confirmed, Clarion Housing
A senior executive at Clarion Housing will give an overview of a variety of regeneration projects, that are funded differently. Highlighting the funding strategies, the challenges and the outcomes.

Clarion were one of the first to adopt a cross subsidy approach to funding, their experience includes the regeneration of estates, working in close partnership with local authorities. They understand that there is no one size fits all approach to regeneration. They are currently working with Westminster City Council and Southwark Council as a development partner, through which affordable housing will be passed back to the Council on completion. They will also talk about the need for good quality engagement with existing residents and the local community.
